Henrys Birthday Walk

On the 20th March I am planning a walk for Henrys 3rd Birthday. 

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The initial idea for this walk was not to raise money, but as a way of remembering our little ones. I will send out further posts on social media to get as many names as we can to take with us. 

It will be amazing to raise awarness of the work Henry's Hope is doing, and to raise awareness of babyloss. 

Anyone is welcome to join, wether you have experienced loss yourself, or know a family member or friend that has. 

It is recommended that we have a minimum of 4 walkers for the trail, with a support car to meet us at a halfway point. for refreshments or for any walkers to retire. If you would like to join us on the walk please have a look at the following information.

Recommended Kit List

 Mandatory 

• Walking boots (with ankle support, not trail shoes or trainers)
• Head torch
• Waterproof jacket and trousers
• Hiking socks (wearing a single pair recommended, rather than using a liner sock)
• Backpack (approx. 20-30 litre size)
• Water container (bottle or Camelbak-style, 1-2 litres)
• Food & hill snacks (pasta, cereal bars, dried fruit, nuts)
• Gloves
• Hat (covering ears)

 Recommended clothing 

• Walking trousers (lightweight hiking trousers, not jeans or tracksuit trousers)
• Sports top (not cotton)
• Warm outer layer
• Changes of clothes

 Recommended, optional 

• Sunglasses & suncream
• Walking poles
• Light shoes / sandals
• Thermal underwear
• Backpack raincover

We will plan to start the walk from Horten-In-Ribblesdale
